Salmo Elementary School has a vibrant makerspace program.

Our makerspace is a resource for classroom based programming engaging students in ADSL programming that links to all parts of the curriculum.

Its a construction centre for class projects and curriculum initiatives enabling our teachers and students to explore topics within the curriculum through experience.

The makerspace is also the focus point for small group and individual work as part of our learning assistance program.

Students are encouraged to design, build, and experiment with many different types of resources. Skills are acquired in tool use, simple construction techniques, simple mechanics, woodwork, electronics, robotics, puppet construction, metalwork and sculpture.
