Report Cards and upcoming planning
Dear families,
Report cards will be issued on Monday January 30. Huge thanks to all our teachers who have worked so tirelessly to complete term assessments and carefully and thoughtfully compile information to share with you about your child’s learning. This is a good point of progress and snapshot of where your child is at. If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to your teacher and they will be happy to collaborate with you on how you can support their learning at home.
Please note these will be released digitally through our MyEd platform. You can access the MyEd portal through our website (https://ses.sd8.bc.ca/ - click on students & families), or at this link: https://myeducation.gov.bc.ca/aspen/logon.do. You may need to change your password (make sure you save it for next time, as you will need it again in June!). Also, use a Chrome web browser and not you may not be able to access it through a phone or tablet.
If you need assistance to reset your password, please email clerical.ses@sd8.bc.ca.
I am also attaching a brochure for you about upcoming changes to reporting in BC in September 2023. You will see we are already using a proficiency scale.
Please let us know if you would like a hard copy of your report cards and we will be happy to print one and send it home.
At this time of year, we also are starting to plan for next year! To assist us in this process, could you please help us in these ways:
- Let us know if there will be any changes for your family next year. If you are planning a move or switching schools, this is important information. Please note that transfer forms are due to the District office by March 30.
- Give us input into the District Strategic Plan! Please visit this link to view a short video and provide your input via a short survey and/or share your ideas. https://engage.sd8.bc.ca/sd8-strategic-plan
- I have attached our Salmo Elementary School Learning Plan for your reference so you know what goals we are working on here at school.
The rest of these next several weeks of winter will be filled with many of our outdoor winter activities and a focus on the theme of LOVE and anti-bullying for the month of February.
Thanks so much again for your partnership in your child(ren)’s education.
All the best!
Dawn Snell
