Principal Holiday Message

Dear families,

It is hard to believe it is the winter break already! It has been a joy to start the year off with familiar pre-pandemic routines. Students have enjoyed shared recess times, combined activities, assemblies, and a more usual classroom experience. We are also grateful to have parents and community members in the school once again.

This season as I reflect on the goings on in our school, one word really stands out to me. It is community. Our little school has shown such great community spirit this year. We have had a chance to do many things together such as multi-age activities, shared lunch clubs such as sewing, creativity club, volleyball and basketball, combined field trips and buddy classes. I am so impressed with how our students work with others from different classes and help the little ones. Additionally, we have been so gratefully supported by parents and members of the community. We have been able to fully embrace community partnerships and host Play in the K in person. It has been wonderful to have volunteers once again in the classrooms and on field trips, and PAC initiatives such as hot lunches, fundraisers and recently the Kids Christmas store. Our little holiday concert this week was a prime example of the love and support that keep us going. It was such a joy to see our gym full of family and friends once again.

I wish to take this time to gratefully thank our teaching and support staff who work each day to provide quality educational experiences. They are a dedicated group of educators who work to meet the needs of each student and provide a caring environment every day. Their diligence, steadfastness, and commitment to the success of every student is commendable. It is a great privilege to work with them and see in them in action each day.

Finally, I am so grateful for the children. Each day they bring a smile, enthusiasm, creativity, and inquisitiveness. They are the joy of our days, and it is such a privilege to be a part of their learning journey. Thank you for sharing them with us.

So today I wish you all the best for the upcoming holiday season. May you find rest and peace and experience the joy of family.

With warmest wishes,

Dawn Snell,

Principal
