"Hope' is the thing with feathers" by Emily Dickinson
‘We Are Learners’:
This year a major component of my professional learning has been through my acceptance into the University of British Columbia's post Master's, Transformational Educational Leadership Program (TELP). One of my lead Professors sent me this poem “Hope’ is the thing with feathers” by Emily Dickinson. Part of this course work is sharing where we live, work and goals that we each have. Through the readings, lectures, presenters and reflecting upon our shared context in the Village of Salmo I am left inspired and hopeful as to where we can get to. I am steadfast that through connection, communication, belief in one another (school, child, families, and Village) that we can build one another up - together we belong.
Thank you to the artists in Mr. Caulford’s class who designed and created these feathers – also sharing their hope for our collective future.
