We have set up our first worm composter in Ms Shamim and Mr Grays room.

We seeded it with 1.5 pounds of worms.

Prior experience tells Mr. Dando that this bin will be operating to full capacity within two weeks to a month. It will absorb all class based compost and also all paper used in the class(shredded).

It will need to be reset in about a month to half the population as they breed quickly. From this we will be able to set up another fully operating bin for another class.

It would be a very reasonable aim to be completely self-sufficient as a school in terms of managing organic refuse and paper through this.
