Hello! Bonjour! Salam!
Welcome. Here you will find a list of resources as well as a link to my google classroom. I am happy to speak about your specific needs, and support you in the best ways I can. So please don't hesitate to reach out and connect!
Our lives have been flipped upside down, and this is no doubt a time of change and difference for so many of us. I offer the words of Mark Twain who says that “the secret of getting ahead is getting started. The secret of getting started is breaking your complex overwhelming tasks into small manageable tasks, and then starting on the first one.”
I will share a personal story that might be useful for some. Before I started my teaching journey I was nervous about not knowing enough of some materials. "Teachers must be super humans, to know it all!" I thought. But what strikes me as inspiring each and every single day is how much the kids inform and shape my practice. Teachers don't know it all. Nobody does. And when we allow our kids beautiful curiosities to lead the way, we open up a whole portal of learning that is centered around their interests and sometimes hidden talents. We move away from teaching them about the subject, and move into a shared learning process - where the adult is showing by example the thinking process, the tools available, and how to utilize the resources around them. Teaching in general is not so much about giving them the answer to a question, as it is about guiding the process of the core and curricular competencies to find their own answer. To think for themselves. Question, gather, plan, try, adapt, focus, share, reflect - this is the spiral of learning.
Keep well everybody! And don't forget to play :)
