Welcome to the last week of October! I can’t believe how the month has simply flown by! And how unusual for us to have snow before Halloween. The students seem to be enjoying the snow at break times as they get used to the change in weather.
Thanks to all who came out to our assembly this morning. We enjoyed wonderful classroom celebrations of learning. It was a great way to see inside the classrooms and student learning. Thanks to all the students who presented for us.
Coming up this week, of course, is Halloween. Please see the attached letter for information on activities and costumes. On Friday, October 30 We will be doing the Halloween for Hunger food drive again, and teachers will be reaching out looking for drivers, if you are able to help.
Additionally, we will be partnering with CBAL (Columbia Basin Alliance for Literacy) and hosting a StoryWalk called “The 13 Nights of Halloween”. A StoryWalk® is a book that has been taken apart, its pages laminated and attached to 18”x24” boards on “H” spikes which can be put in the ground to create, or go along a path to promote literacy, the outdoors, and exercise. Our students will be walking through during their Halloween for Hunger walk, but we invite our families and other community members with small children to walk through at their convenience. Please feel free to come by at any time with your younger children.
That is all for now! Please continue to send your child well equipped for the colder weather. It makes outdoor play that much more fun.
All the best,
